What You’ll Do
The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for cleaning, inspecting, sanding, and preparing trailer components before they enter the paint process.
Responsibilities:
- Inspect trailers and components before paint preparation
- Verify parts, tires, ramps, and trailer specifications against production paperwork
- Clean, sand, scrape, and prepare surfaces for paint
- Operate hand tools, sanding equipment, and power tools
- Remove debris and contaminants from surfaces
- Apply degreaser and caulking where required
- Perform quality inspections of prep work before paint
- Ensure remotes and accessories are properly protected
- Maintain clean and organized drying bays and work areas
- Assist with reassembly of components after painting
- Follow safety and quality procedures at all times
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred, but not required
- Experience using hand tools and power tools preferred
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
- Manufacturing or production experience is a plus
