Summary:

Based in Madisonville, Texas, this person is responsible for fitting and welding steel parts together using a Metal Inert Gas (MIG) process. Each job must be performed safely, accurately, and in a timely manner in the welding area. Also required to perform other miscellaneous tasks, as assigned by his or her supervisor. This is a fast-paced, piece-rate environment that is made for motivated welders/fabricators. Write your own paycheck after a 4-week training period. Starting pay for the training period is $18.00-$25.00 an hour, depending on your experience. The 4-week period will give you the building blocks to be successful here if you so choose. The 4-week period shows you how we weld and the fundamentals of trailer building. After training, you will move to a PPU (Piece Per Unit) compensation rate. Your work ethic will be the key to making up to $2,000.00 per week.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Create quality welds
  • Operating a forklift if required; training on site
  • Assemble trailers as instructed by the floor supervisor
  • Ensure work is done safely and meets quality standards
  • Inspecting welds for accuracy
  • Prepare product to be welded by grinding and cutting parts to proper dimensions
  • Provide a great level of attention to detail and focus on the given task
  • Running welder at high temperature and feed rate
  • Keep work areas clean and organized and take proper care of all equipment and facilities.
  • Accurately read a tape measure down to the 16th
  • Assembly of simple suspension system
  • Follow all safety rules and quality standards
  • Monitor Equipment and request maintenance when needed
  • Cut and clean metal using plasma cutter and portable grinders
  • Weld material in a flat, horizontal, and vertical position
  • Lift raw material manually (up to 50lbs.)
  • Ability to stand continuously for long periods of time
  • Willing to work 55 hours a week
  • Ability to follow instructions given both verbally and in written form

Experience:

MIG Welding: 1 year (Preferred)

Safety, Quality, Accuracy, Timeliness, Reliability, and Thoroughness of work performed; gains the trust and respect of the shift supervisor, co-workers and other employees. Develops working knowledge of the production environment and has ability to respond to change. Always work to continuously improve the operations of the department.
